In terms of plot, some of the character motives were lost in the fast-paced nature of the film. Believe me, it was incredibly too fast. This is something that happens a lot in book to film adaptations, since it is very difficult to cram what would be a 10 hour reading session in a 2 hour movie, but still, they could have tried a bit harder.   Foer’s Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close is about a lot of things, all told around the dueling stories of Oskar, a nine-year-old whose father died in the Twin Towers on September 11 th and the tragic love story and history of his grandparents, German immigrants and survivors of, among many things, a deadly round of WWII bombings of their. Little Giovanni is poor and homeless, but he can do something wonderful: he can juggle. The people of Sorrento marvel at his talents, and before long, he becomes famous throughout Italy for his rainbow of colored balls that delight the nobility and townspeople alike.
